My early MA work began with a project entitled Dark KNIGHT of the Soul, a series of figurative paintings in which anatomical forms were purposefully distorted, blurred and exaggerated to show human suffering. These bodies became vessels for collective pain. Drawing from the concept of “Dark Night of the Soul," which, in the world of poetry and psychoanalysis, represents a painful journey back to your true self. In pure coincidence, after accidently mishearing the word, I created my own architype - a spiritual descent, a knight-like figure navigating the harsh terrain of psychological transformation. This notion of a personal battle through darkness aligns with Jung’s concept of the Shadow as a necessary confrontation with the unknown aspects of the self.
